Privacy Policy
Effective October 14, 2026. Ringer is in an invite-only beta.
The short version
- Your data is yours. Delete any of it, anytime.
- Ringer keeps what it needs to do what you ask. Nothing is sold, used for ads, or used to train AI.
- It reads your email, calendar or other accounts only if you connect them, and only to help you.
- It never sees your website passwords, and it asks before it books, buys, sends an email or texts as you.
- You can disconnect anything, or have all your data deleted, by asking.
How your data is protected
- Your Google access and your backups are encrypted with AES-256, using a key unique to you.
- Each person's data is kept separate. Nobody else's Ringer can see yours.
- Ringer never sees your passwords. You sign in on Google's or the website's own page.
- Ringer asks before it sends an email, texts as you, books, buys or cancels anything.
- Everything is stored on Cloudflare, encrypted on disk, and backups are deleted after 30 days.
What Ringer remembers, and why
Ringer can't see your texts with anyone else. It only knows what you tell it and what you choose to connect.
- Your chat with Ringer, so it remembers what you asked and can follow up.
- Things you ask it to remember, like a preference or an account number.
- Calls it makes for you: a summary and a recording, so you can check how it went. Every call says it's recorded.
- If you connect Google: Ringer looks at your email and calendar only when something you asked for needs it.
- If you choose calls in your own voice: the voice copy made from your voice memo.
- Backups, so nothing gets lost: encrypted and deleted after 30 days.
Health information
- Ringer handles health information, like medical bills, EOBs, claims and insurance details, only when you ask for help with it, and it asks for your OK the first time.
- It uses it only for what you asked, and shares it only with the insurer, doctor's office or pharmacy you want Ringer to contact.
- On those calls Ringer always says it's calling on your behalf. It never pretends to be you, and it connects you when they need you to confirm who you are.
- It's protected like everything else in your account, and you can delete it anytime.
Who processes it
Ringer is built on a few trusted service providers, which handle your data only to run Ringer, under contracts that limit them to that:
- An AI model provider that reads your messages and decides what to do. It doesn't train its models on your data.
- Calling and voice providers, for phone calls, voices and recordings.
- A messaging provider that delivers Ringer's messages as real iMessages, the same blue bubbles as your friends' texts (SMS if you're not on iPhone).
- A web browser provider for errands. If you sign in to a website, you do it on that provider's secure page, and your password isn't saved.
- Cloudflare, for hosting and storage, with Cloudflare's network security built in.
- Google, only if you connect your account.
Want the list of providers by name? Ask, and we'll send it.
Google data
Ringer's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Ringer uses Google data only to do what you ask and to point out things in your email and calendar you'd want to know about. It doesn't sell it, use it for ads, or use it to train AI models. No person reads it, except with your permission to fix a problem you report, for security, or when the law requires it.
Your choices
- Disconnect Google anytime: text Ringer, or remove Ringer at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Sign out of a website: text Ringer “sign me out of united.com”.
- Turn off proactive nudges: text “turn off instincts”.
- Delete everything: text Ringer “delete my data”. Once you confirm, it's all erased right away, including call recordings, your voice copy, connected accounts and backups.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, Ringer will text you before it takes effect.
